Privacy Policy

Effective: August 19, 2026  ·  Last updated: August 28, 2026

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. We have kept it short because we collect very little.

The short version. We collect your name, email, and the information needed to run your subscription. Payment is handled by our processor; we never see your full card number.

We run no advertising trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no session recording, no advertising cookies. We do not sell or share your information for advertising.

We never see your trading. The software runs on your machine inside your charting platform. We have no access to your brokerage account, your positions, your orders, or your account balance.

1. Who we are

True Range Research is operated by PJV Holdings LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company, doing business as True Range Research. PJV Holdings LLC is the controller of the personal information described here.

This policy covers truerangeresearch.com and the True Range Research indicator suite.

2. What we collect

What When and why
Name and email address When you create an account, start a trial, subscribe to the mailing list, or use the contact form. Used to run your account and to reach you.
Payment information When you start a trial or subscribe. Collected and stored by [PAYMENT PROCESSOR], not by us. We receive a token, the last four digits, the card brand, and the expiry date.
Subscription records Trial start and end dates, billing dates, amounts, payment status, cancellation date. Needed to run the subscription and to resolve billing disputes.
Consent records When you start a trial: the date and time, your IP address, and the version of the terms displayed to you. Kept as evidence of what you agreed to, in case a charge is ever disputed.
License and installation data Which instruments your models are tuned to, and license activation records. Needed to deliver and support the software.
Messages you send us Contact form submissions and emails, including whatever you choose to write.
Server logs Our web host records IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Standard for any website. Used for security and troubleshooting.
Email engagement [IF APPLICABLE — CONFIRM: if your email provider records opens and clicks, say so here. If it does not, delete this row.]

3. What we do not collect

Worth stating plainly, because of what this product is:

  • Nothing from your brokerage account. The software does not connect to your broker. We do not see your positions, orders, trades, balance, or account number.
  • No brokerage or platform credentials. We never ask for your TradeStation login and you should never send it to us.
  • No trading results. We do not collect, receive, or track how your trades turn out.
  • No card numbers. Full card details go directly to our payment processor and are never stored on our systems.
  • No advertising or behavioral profiles. We do not build them and we do not buy them.

4. Why we use it

We use the information above to:

  • Create and run your account
  • Deliver the software and license keys
  • Process payments and manage renewals and cancellations
  • Send account and billing emails, including the reminder before your first charge
  • Provide installation and setup support
  • Send the mailing list, if you subscribed to it
  • Respond to messages you send us
  • Keep the site secure and diagnose problems
  • Resolve billing disputes and chargebacks
  • Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not rent or trade mailing lists.

For UK and EU visitors: our legal bases are performance of a contract (running your subscription), legitimate interests (site security, fraud prevention, defending billing disputes), consent (marketing email, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only what each one needs:

Provider What they handle
[PAYMENT PROCESSOR] Card details, billing, subscription charges
[EMAIL PROVIDER] Account emails and the mailing list
GoDaddy Web hosting and server logs
Google Fonts Fonts served to your browser — see section 7

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, property, or safety. If the business is sold or merged, account information may transfer as part of that; we will give notice before it does.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies only for things the site needs to work — keeping you signed in and keeping your session secure.

We run no advertising or analytics trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads conversion tag, no session recording, and no third-party advertising cookie on this site.

If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy and say what we added before it goes live.

We do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because there is no agreed standard for what a response should be. Since we do not track you across sites, there is nothing to opt out of.

7. Google Fonts

This site loads two typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. Google states that it does not use these requests to build advertising profiles. We have no control over what Google does with the request and we receive nothing from it.

[NOTE TO OPERATOR — delete before publishing: if you sell into the EU or UK, consider self-hosting the two font files instead. Downloading them and serving them from your own server removes this disclosure entirely and removes a GDPR question that has been litigated in Germany. It is a small change: download the woff2 files, put them in a /fonts folder, and replace the two Google link tags with a local @font-face block.]

8. How long we keep it

  • Account information: while your account is active, and for [NUMBER] years after it closes
  • Billing and consent records: at least [NUMBER] years, to meet tax obligations and to defend chargebacks
  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe
  • Contact form messages: [NUMBER] years
  • Server logs: as retained by our host, typically a short period

[CONFIRM these periods with your accountant and attorney. Billing records are usually kept seven years in the US for tax purposes.]

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Payment details go directly to our processor and never touch our servers. Access to account information is limited to people who need it to run the business.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is completely safe. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

10. Your rights

Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your information, subject to records we must keep for tax and legal reasons
  • Send you a copy in a portable format
  • Stop sending you marketing email — every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and it works

Email peter@truerangeresearch.com. We will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.

California residents

Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the rights above, plus the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and why. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may use an authorized agent to make a request.

UK and EU residents

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the rights above, plus the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, the right to restrict processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Our servers are in the United States. If you are in the UK or EU, your information is transferred there. [NOTE TO OPERATOR: if you take UK or EU customers, the transfer mechanism for that needs attorney review.]

11. Children

This service is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a material change — particularly if we start collecting something new or add any tracking — we will notify account holders by email before it takes effect.

The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
